Tomas Reyhan has walked desert crossings for twenty years, first as a guide and now with a camera and as little else as he can carry. He looks for the hour when a low sun throws every ripple into relief, and for the days after wind, when the dunes are clean.
His black-and-white pictures are printed on a warm-tone cotton paper with a carbon black ink set, which keeps the shadows deep without turning blue. The colour work is printed on the same paper as Ines Cardoso’s coasts, so the two hang well together.
Tomas lives in Granada. He signs his prints with a soft graphite pencil on the lower margin and adds the place and date on the back.
